LAS VEGAS (IHCT) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department with the Clark County School District Police responded to a shooting near Chaparral High School on 3850 Annie Oakley Drive in Las Vegas on Monday, Jan. 31.

According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Captain Kristine Buist, at around 11am, a small fire was reported on the high school campus. The high school was evacuated for precaution. Students returned back to class after the situation was clear.

Around 11:43am, the police received a call that multiple gun shots were fired near the area of the high school.

When police arrived, no victims were located at the scene.

Police continued to investigate for witnesses and video.

Police received a call from a local hospital that victims were dropped off for gun shot wounds. Three victims are being treated at the hospital. Two of the victims are reported to be students from the high school.

Clark County School District Police and the LVMPD Gang Unit are currently investigating the situation.
