LAS VEGAS (LLN LV): Fire crews responded to reports of a garage fire in Northwest Las Vegas. LVFR Battalion Chief was the first to arrive on scene.

His size up of the scene was heavy smoke and fire coming from the garage fire. He ordered his first in crews to fight the fire from a defensive position and as they made progress knocking down the fire they would switch to an offensive attack.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire. One occupant of the home was being treated for some smoke inhalation issues and was eventually transported to UMC. Per LVFR PIO the cause of the fire is undetermined and careless smoking could not be ruled out. Damages are reported at $75000.00.
